In a professional paint shop environment, precision and strict control of every step are crucial. From initial pre-treatment to final curing in the oven – every detail determines the final quality. One of the greatest risks that can jeopardize the integrity of the coating is invisible silicone contamination.

Even minute traces of silicone lead to undesirable defects, such as craters or “fish eyes.” These defects not only disrupt aesthetics but fundamentally reduce paint adhesion and weaken the anti-corrosion protection of the entire part.

Hidden Sources of Risk Silicone is a dangerous enemy in a paint shop, primarily because it is imperceptible to the naked eye before the paint is applied. In addition to industrial sealants and lubricants, it can also enter the process through common cosmetics, hairsprays, or protective hand creams.

Expertise and Prevention In a paint shop, it is necessary to use exclusively certified materials – from special masking elements to safe lubricants designed for paint shops. When receiving material into the paint shop, it is necessary to verify that it has not been potentially contaminated by the customer.
